Knob Creek Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey was crafted to embody bourbon that you would have been drinking inside the prohibition era lounge behind a hidden door in a dark alley in the 1920’s and early 30’s. This is truly a full bourbon whiskey and those looking for something that is just “smooth” need not apply. Knob Creek is crafted in limited quantities, aged 9 years and placed in only the deepest charred American Oak barrels to fully draw out the natural sugars. Then bottle it at an honest 100 proof to reflect the flavor, strength and patience that defined pre-prohibition whiskey. The aroma is quite robust; heavy oak is detected at first, giving way to an almost sweet scent of vanilla, a small touch of caramel and even toffee. The tasting of this whiskey leaves you with two options. True enthusiasts will want to add a few chilled drops of water to really open up the flavors and make them more noticeable and enjoyable to the palate. The finish is strong and lasting, the oak is ever present and though it does not “bite” it certainly does not kiss you goodnight either. Once you've grown into this full flavor, no other bourbon will do. That's when your palate refuses to take a step back and you’re ready for what Booker Noe envisioned true bourbon to be.
