Ardmore 1991-Gordon & Macphail Single Malt Scotch Whisky

SKU 0201150238A

The name Ardmore derives from the Scotch Gaelic 'Ard moi' meaning 'Big Slope', a reference to the undulations of Aberdeenshire where the distillery stands. One of the largest distilleries in Scotland, Ardmore is also the site for large scientific research laboratories. The whisky is mostly quite peated, but a small amount of un-peated whisky is released during a few weeks yearly in the shape of Ardmore Ardlair, though this is used exclusively in various blends. An independent bottling of peated Speysider Ardmore 1991 from Gordon & Macphail. On the eastern edge of Speyside at kennethmont between the River Bogie, the Clashindarroch Forest and the foothills of the Grampian mountains lies Ardmore Distillery. It was founded in 1898 just before the collapse of the whisky market a year later due to over supply
