This wine is a cabernet-dominant blend made up of 88% cabernet sauvignon, 6% cabernet franc, 4% merlot, 1% petit verdot and 1% malbec. The fruit comes from two of Napa Valley's most renowned sub-appellations - Oakville and Stag's Leap. The grapes were hand harvested into small bins and sorted in the winery's gravity-flow cellar. The clusters were de-stemmed directly into traditional oak tanks for cold soak, fermentation and an extended maceration, the entire practice lasting 26 days. The wine was then drained and pressed into 15% new French oak barrels for malolactic fermentation. Following fermentation, the wine was aged for 16 months in French oak. The wine comes in at 14.5% ABV.
