Quick Overview

The Nardini family has been making Italy's finest grappa in Bassano del Grappa in the Veneto Region since 1779. With its two distilleries, one in Bassano del Grappa and one in Monastier, an innovative bottling complex and in-house laboratory, Nardini makes grappas, liqueurs and amaros that evoke the rich traditions of this region.

Distillation, the Nardini way Grappa, obtained from the distillation of grape pomace, is the traditional and distinctive Italian spirit.

Nardini sources the grape pomace exclusively from the foothills of north-eastern Veneto and Friuli following the harvest season. The pomace is stored in the distillery within 24 hours after pressing for wine production, creating a process of natural fermentation in airtight conditions without the aid of yeast that would lessen the quality of the final distillate. Distillation then takes place in late autumn until early spring.

Both distillation plants utilize the traditional vacuum-sealed steam method. While in Bassano the fermented grape pomace is produced in discontinuous pot stills, in Monastier it flows discontinuously into dealcolizers. In both methods the grappa passes through a rectification column where only the noble part, the “heart” of the grappa, is carefully selected. The rectification takes place twice, resulting in an exceptionally smooth and balanced distillate.

The product obtained from the two distilleries is then expertly blended to guarantee a consistent tasting and aromatic profile, and the 80% alcoholic content is reduced to 50% by volume. In the final phase the grappa is cold-filtered to -10 degrees Celsius to extract residual oils, creating a highly digestible distillate.

This complex method, implemented by Nardini relying on their two Centuries of experience and state of the art quality control systems, guarantees one uniform product of the highest quality.

This grappa is the undisputable leader in the quality grappa market, derived from the distillation of the grape pomace of Cabernet, Raboso, Friuliano and Pinot Bianco from the Veneto and Friuli Regions of Italy. With a 50% alcoholic content, Aquavite di Vinaccia – Grappa Nardini is transparent and crystalline in color with pronounced, refreshing aromas; dry and crisp on the palate with a long, clean finish.
